24 July: Very stormy and wet this afternoon, good numbers of juniors appear to be in system. Flood expected tomorrow.

 

 

23 July: Like the Canaries today. Reports of good evening fishing with plenty of trout on the move. Rain tomorrow.

 

 

22 July 1230: Some names to add to reports. Colin and Pj Lynham had five grilse and thirteen seatrout for their visit, David O Hagan three seatrout to 2.5lbs, Mr Delaney two seatrout to 3.5lbs, Dara Touhy and Jan Mulligan three seatrout to 3.5lbs. A special note for young Josh Truman with his first grilse at six pounds.It is raining very heavily at the moment and the forecast is wet for the next week. Lots of juniors are reported to have entered during the week.

 

 

21 July: Just returned from the West. Fishing has been ok despite sunshine, grilse were recorded most days and seatrout were on the move late evenings.

 

 

13 July: A number of grilse are being taken and seatrout in the 1lb range are making an appearance. Mike Dwyer and his guests had six seatrout and a grilse over the last two days, a boat from Lakelands house had six seatrout and a grilse.More rain on Sunday, it was next week last year when the main run of trout and grilse made an appearance. I am away until next Saturday.

 

 

10 July: Reports of an excellent movement of fish, Roger Baker and his guest had three seatrout, 10.5lbs, 4.5lbs and 2.5lbs. Frank Donnelly had six sea trout with his guest. Reports suggest that the smaller sea trout are entering in numbers.

 

 

08 July: Four grilse/ salmon today with all reasonably fresh, Chris Fogarty had a nice salmon on the Cummeragh which was returned, Sylvester Donnelly grilse, guest with Tom O Shea had a grilse while John Boyjter also had a fish. There are good numbers of juniors in the lake but are reluctant to come to the fly.

 

 

6 July: A number of grilse fell to guests with Dominic Mc Gillicudy, Terence Wharton,Frank Donnelly and Mike Dwyer. One salmon was reported from Cummeragh.Juniors made an appearance with boats encountering fish widely around the lake.More rain and wind tomorrow night.

 

 

5 July:The weather deteriorated throughout the afternoon but one boat (Dominic Mc Gillicudy) did exceptionally well with three grilse and a seatrout to add to two grilse in the morning.

 

 

5 July: 1130: Very heavy rain last night and stormy conditions, plenty of grilse and sea trout are now running. A guest with Dominic Mc Gillicudy had one salmon and one grilse this morning.
